Sharp SMD3070AS opening dimensions (30-inch microwave drawer)

Sharp's installation guide gives the cabinet opening for its 30-inch microwave drawer: 22‑1/8 in to 28‑7/16 in wide, 15‑9/16 in high and at least 23‑1/2 in deep.

15‑9/16" high opening

Width 22‑1/8" minimum, 28‑7/16" maximum. Depth 23‑1/2" minimum. Cabinet 30" minimum.

What opening does the 30-inch drawer need?

Why is the width a range?

Sharp gives the opening width as a range, 22‑1/8" to 28‑7/16" (J in Figure 4, G in Figure 5; both arrows run across the opening). Its Figure 6 drawing shows the drawer front at 30" wide (dimension E).

The guide names the SMD3070AS. Sharp also sells an SMD3070ASY, which the guide does not name; its support article is listed below.
